Congratulations, you're engaged! Now what? You probably have a lot of questions about planning your wedding, and if you're here, specifically about invitations. We're happy to help guide you with some commonly asked questions.
WHAT TO EXPECT
First and foremost, you are celebrating an exciting event in your life and this process should be enjoyable! I work from my home to foster an environment that is relaxed and personalized for us to create an invitation suite you are excited about. We will explore your personal style and discuss incorporating your personality into your suite and printed wedding day accessories. From invitation wording, fonts, stocks, ink colors, and design elements- we will cover all the bases at a comfortable pace. Please allow about 2 hours for initial consultation appointments.
WHAT GOES IN THE INVITATION SUITE?
An invitation suite is what refer to when discussing all the components that you will mail to your guests. This includes the main invitation, reply set, often a details card or schedule of weekend events, the outer envelope and any other enclosures you are mailing to your guests. Your individual needs will determine what to include in your suite.
WHEN TO MAIL INVITATIONS
For weddings and mitzvahs, the rule of thumb is to mail invitations around 8 weeks prior to your event. For destination weddings or in unique circumstances, you may prefer to mail closer to 10 weeks out. Which leads us to...
WHEN TO BEGIN LOOKING AT INVITATIONS
Get an early start so that you won’t feel rushed later. We recommend beginning the invitation design process around 6 months before your wedding. Order your invitations 3-4 months before you plan to drop them in the mail. This timeline allows for a thorough proofing process, production, shipping, and guest addressing.
Typically our production timelines are around 10-15 business days from the time of final proof approval. You will be notified when selecting your stationery of the estimated production schedule.
With such a vast selection of stationery options, it is no surprise that there are a wide range of price points. Pricing is dependent on a variety of factors, including: quantity of invitations, print methods, stock thickness, size, embellishments, number of enclosures, etc. We recommend open communication about budget so that we can help you stay on track with a price point that is comfortable for you. The majority of our couples budget about $2000-$3500 for a quantity of 100 suites.
